12 Months of Ford: Part 2

As we all say goodbye to 2021, and look back on what we’ve achieved;

Allow us to run through our favourite moments, and the interesting ideas conceived…

July

One in five would miss petrol’s smell, if electric they decided to go;

So we concocted a special fragrance, a signature scent we called Mach-Eau.

Using blue ginger and lavender, with some sandalwood in there too;

With smoky and rubbery accents; petrol heads this one was for you!

We then hopped in the Mach-E GT, and headed to the Festival of Speed;

Our electric Mustang was ready to gallop; a silent one-horse stampede.

Electrifying the crowd at Goodwood, climbing the hill was quite the spectacle;

100km/h in 3.7 seconds, we’re sure it stole the festival.

August

In August we took our Explorer Plug-In Hybrid, placing it atop a climbing tower;

Challenging Norway’s most fearless climbers, testing all their might and power.

The climbers fiercely competed, undeterred by the wall’s great size;

High Stakes, Hybrid Reward; the vehicle the winner’s prize.

Then we shifted to gaming, as we brought our P1 racer to life;

A  fully-playable simulator, giving you the opportunity to drive.

We also announced our next project, in collaboration with you, the fan;

Like with the P1 we wanted your input, to help design the next Supervan.

September

After a year that was tough on all of us, we turned focus to mental health;

Creating our Mindfulness Car Concept, exploring ways with which stress can be dealt.

A hygienic and harmonious space, a place of calm relaxation and serenity;

Taking a moment to sit and reflect, or simply listen to a calming melody.

Has a package ever not been delivered, simply because you were not home?

By having it delivered to your vehicle, you’re unrestricted and free to roam.

The delivery driver unlocks your car, scanning your parcel to confirm;

Placing the item safely in your boot, so you can collect when you return.

October

In October we conducted more research, studying brain patterns and fatigue;

We put people in an MRI machine, and waited for the results with great intrigue.

Asking them to play a driving simulator, studying tiredness – a potential danger;

To help more efficiently alert the driver, and help to keep our roads much safer.

We reimagined the Tourneo Connect; capable of whatever you need it to do;

For active lifestyles or small businesses, a vehicle that adapts to you.

Stress-reducing driver tech and a range of powertrains that are efficient;

A flexible cabin that can seat seven, transport sports gear or even camping equipment.

November

In November we revealed new details of our most versatile Ranger yet;

Comfortable in any conditions, able to drive in dry or wet.

Fields or forests, beaches or streets, extreme to the most mundane;

Able to transport you and goods safely, regardless of how tough the terrain.

We also celebrated motorsport, and the great history of Formula Ford;

More than five decades of racing, and careers that have since soared.

Senna, Fittipaldi, Schumacher and Button too;

All champions in F1, but it was Formula Ford they came through.

December

In December we went to Spain meeting Pedro whose story is inspiring;

An 87-year-old Mach-E owner, whose future now looks exciting.

Making the switch to electric, with Miguel helping any time he needs;

He visits places he hasn’t in years, swapping petrol stations for charging leads.

This year we’ve faced some challenges, yet these stories show once more

The innovations, tech and cars we make have you at their very core.

We hope you get to spend time with those you hold most dear,

From all at Ford of Europe, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
