Get ready to ‘Go Like Hell’ all over again

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the most famous motor races in the world.

That made it the perfect place to announce that we’re going racing with one of the world’s most famous sports cars.

From 2024, you’ll be able to see our new Mustang GT3 race car in action at racing circuits across the globe, including Le Mans.

Based on the high-performance Mustang Dark Horse model that we revealed last year, the Mustang GT3 was unveiled during the centenary celebration on the eve of the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

Its bespoke suspension, race-ready gearbox and unique aero package are built with help from Multimatic – who were also involved in our Ford GT’s historic win at Le Mans in 2016.

The Mustang GT3 also has a tuned engine based on the V8 that powers road-going Mustangs – assembled by our World Rally Championship partner and two-time championship winning team, M-Sport.

The bold, colourful new look is from Troy Lee, who is recognised as one of the premier motorsport designers in the world. The eye-catching, clean, simplified design will feature on all of our racing vehicles from now on.

Motorsport fans can expect to see Mustang GT3 in action in the hands of Proton Competition, based in Ehingen, Germany, which intends to campaign a pair of the cars in the FIA World Endurance Championship, starting in 2024. 1

Ford Performance will also field a two-car factory race program with Mustang GT3 in IMSA’s GTD Pro class. This will be managed by Multimatic Motorsports and begin at the 2024 Rolex 24 at Daytona.

“Ford and Le Mans are bound together by history. And now we’re coming back to the most dramatic, most rewarding and most important race in the world.”

CEO, Ford Motor Company
