All-new Mustang fuses classic design with brand-new technology

Our Ford Mustang sports car 1 is one of the most iconic cars in history, and now we’ve introduced an all-new version that’s set to become an instant classic.

The first place many Mustang fans look is under the bonnet, and they won’t be disappointed to find a new version of our famous 5.0-litre V8 engine, which has a dual air intake system to boost performance. Drivers can choose up to six interactive Drive Modes to tailor the car to suit the conditions, and features like rev-matching and Brembo brakes mean the sports car is track-ready.

Inside, there’s an all-digital twin screen set up, with a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and 13.2-inch SYNC 4 2 centre screen, both behind the same piece of glass that’s angled towards the driver. The displays use software from the gaming world to allow lots of user customisation, including colours, ambient lighting and even different instrument dial designs.

Sharper exterior styling is edgier and more distinctive, with a slimmer front grille, a longer rear spoiler and wider rear haunches for true muscle car looks. New LED headlamps are eye-catching as well as functional, and at the rear the classic Mustang vertical taillights are also picked out in LEDs.

Special, high-performance Mustangs have been some of the most iconic and memorable – and now there’s a new one. Called Mustang Dark Horse, it will also form the basis for Mustang returning to global motorsport. The Mustang Dark Horse features a more powerful V8 engine, the option of a high-spec six-speed manual transmission and increased cooling to give even more track endurance. There’s also an electronic drift brake, 3 designed to help both novices and experts exploit the car’s performance and handling.

“This is the most athletic and confidence-inspiring Mustang to drive yet. Whether driving an automatic or manual transmission, thanks to drive modes combined with fine-tuned digital engine, suspension and steering controls, we’re now able to give drivers peak performance everywhere, from their favourite roads to their local track.”

CO2 emission and fuel efficiency ranges may vary according to vehicle variants offered by individual markets. Officially homologated fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions figures will be published closer to on-sale date.

The declared WLTP fuel/energy consumptions, CO2-Emissions and electric range are determined according to the technical requirements and specifications of the European Regulations (EC) 715/2007 and (EU) 2017/1151 as last amended. The applied standard test procedures enable comparison between different vehicle types and different manufacturers.
