12 Months of Ford: Part 1

As we all say goodbye to 2021, and look back on what we’ve achieved;
Allow us to run through our favourite moments, and the interesting ideas conceived…

January
We launched ‘Guard Mode’ in January with security on our minds;

Helping vans stay connected, with updates in real-time.

A connected security system that sends notifications to your phone;

Alerting you to breaches, when your key’s stolen or even cloned.

We moved to assistance, helping drivers across the nation;

By sharing connected car data, we improved Local Hazard Information.

We shared data with other brands, not just those in a Ford;

All drivers benefit from our tech, as would loved ones riding onboard.

February
In February we went big, by showing our commitment to electrification;

Thinking of an electrified future, our Cologne site began its transformation.

We invested $1 billion, all in the name of sustainability;

Our e-mobility centre for Europe; an electrified facility.

In eSports, Team Fordzilla continued trailblazing;

Always looking forward, we partnered with Next Level Racing.

To help encourage inclusivity, build a community for virtual racing;

Regardless of age, gender, or ability – it was time for all to start playing.

March

We introduced FordLiive, to help maximise uptime and productivity;

Fewer breakdowns and quicker repairs, to improve your work agility.

Real-time data, giving vehicle-specific information;

And a faster diagnosis, to help remedy the situation.

Then we rolled out our Smart Mirror, to show drivers what’s behind;

Partition or cargo blocking views, in reverse they’d often be blind.

Looking like a regular mirror, but with a high-definition screen;

Pedestrians, cyclists and drivers feel safer, now that they’re seen.

April
Surprise, surprise, the Mustang continues to raise the bar;

For the second year running, it was the world’s best-selling sports car.

An enduring icon, a legend, it withstands the test of time;

In production since ‘64, it ages like fine wine.

Driving at night can be stressful, when so much ahead is hidden;

We began testing prototype headlights; an advanced illumination system.

Using GPS data and advanced tech, the lights adjust before you turn;

Optimal coverage of bends and junctions, unseen hazards you’ll sooner learn.

May
In a year that showed us just how important our emergency services are;

We released our Lifesavers film series, where the car was not the star.

We followed individuals all over Europe, meeting their teams who are like a family;

Pushing through their doubt and fears, saving lives in moments of tragedy.

We decided to stay in the director’s chair, a Ranger-Western to delight viewers;

The Good, The Bad, and The Bad-RSE, saw heroes outdrive their pursuers.

ATVs and motorbikes were chasing, but dynamite was set to explode;

A tower fell to block routes behind them, and off into the sunset they rode.

June
In June we asked you all to vote, and 275,000 gave an opinion;

Designing it from top to bottom, you created Puma ST Gold Edition.

By the fans, for the fans, with the paint black and callipers red;

We hear Santa even ordered one, as a replacement for his sled.

We explored the future of doorstep deliveries; how driverless vans would be received;

An insightful two-week research project, in collaboration with experts, Hermes.

Looking at autonomous vehicles, and the ways they could benefit a business;

More efficient and more sustainable, maybe that’s how you’ll get gifts next Christmas.

Stay tuned for Part 2...
