We’re helping businesses keep moving with FORDLiive

From delivering our groceries to maintaining our roads, vans are the heartbeat of the businesses and services that we rely on every day.

So, for van owners and operators, maximising the amount of time their vans spend on the road – known as uptime – is crucial for increasing productivity.

Our new FORDLiive system is designed to help keep vans moving by avoiding breakdowns, reducing the number of trips to the workshop and making servicing faster, all by sharing data from our connected vehicles with customers and dealers.

Connected vehicles enable customers to maximise uptime via usage-based Smart Maintenance alerts. Keeping track of oil changes, tyre pressures, and battery and fuel levels via an easy-to-use app allows customers to schedule servicing when it’s convenient for them, and could reduce breakdowns by 30 per cent.1 Smart Maintenance also simply explains what warning lights mean, and what to do if they appear.

We’re also introducing new Ford Service Pro to our 800 Transit Centres across Europe – a set of data-powered services to boost uptime. These include enabling technicians to check vehicle data for diagnosing issues and ordering parts before vehicles arrive, using virtual reality goggles to “teleport” engineers into the workshop if needed, and bundling upcoming tasks to save customers from making multiple trips to the dealer.

Uptime experts in our new FORDLiive Centres can see all this data and track workshop visits to spot issues developing, helping them identify earlier the parts and expertise needed to get vehicles back on the road.

FORDLiive will be rolled out across Europe as we work towards our ambition of 100 per cent uptime to support our commercial vehicle customers’ businesses.
