Digital experiences will make EV ownership simpler

From groceries to movies and music, for many consumers it’s now totally normal to head straight online to find and buy new products with just a few clicks.

We’re going to offer that same simplicity for buying our cars and services, starting with our electric vehicles. The goal is to make the whole journey – from searching for the right car to accessing charging – seamless and convenient. Afterall, helping customers go electric is crucial to our sustainability commitments.

Our online showrooms will let you discover and find out all about our electric vehicles from the comfort of your sofa, or during a short break between meetings.

You’ll be able to test new models from your smartphone too. We’ve already introduced an innovative virtual drive experience for our all-electric Explorer. 1 When the SUV reaches dealers later this year, you’ll be able to book a real-world test drive online, with the vehicle delivered to you with plenty of battery charge for exploring.

We’re also working to make haggling a thing of the past with transparent pricing – already underway for customers in the Netherlands. Our plan is to roll out the “agency model” across Europe – ensuring that customers get a consistent price whether they shop online or at the store of their choice.

Uncertainty about when your new car will arrive can make it difficult to plan ahead, so we’re committing to keeping customers well informed and letting them arrange delivery to suit their diaries at the click of a button.

We’re not stopping once the vehicle is on your driveway either. Over-the-air updates will continue to deliver cool features like BlueCruise. 2 You’ll be able to find and monitor charging remotely, whether via one of Europe’s largest charging networks or our at-home charging solutions. And you’ll be able to easily arrange as pick-up and delivery for servicing that can be scheduled online.

We outlined our reimagined customer journey at the Bring On Tomorrow Live event in Copenhagen, Denmark, to the retail partners from across Europe who will help make it happen.

While there, we also took the opportunity to reveal another of the 10 electric vehicles we’re committed to offering in Europe by 2024 – the new E-Tourneo Courier multi-activity vehicle. 1

“Our vision is to make it easier and more appealing than ever for customers to discover, buy and own the right electric vehicle for them, whether switching to electric for the first time or already an experienced owner.”
