Mission Control: new data centre is keeping our vans moving

Whether they’re delivering your shopping or taking a plumber and tools to fix an urgent leak, commercial vehicles are the lifeblood of businesses.

That’s why it’s vital that our vans work reliably around the clock – and it’s why we launched FORDLiive, an intelligent system designed to maximise the time vans spend on the road.

Vans need to visit dealerships for lots of reasons – from accidents to punctures to scheduled servicing. That’s when our team of more than 100 FORDLiive Agents can step in and use real-time data to help organise the parts and support dealers need to find and fix issues as quickly as possible.

New data proves it works; in August, FORDLiive Agents in the UK were able to cut in half the time spent off the road by vans in repair cases that they managed.

The team is also helping more and more customers – the UK team handled five times the proportion of cases in August as it did in April, FORDLiive’s first full month of operation.

Together, these improvements have delivered over 15,000 days of extra vehicle availability since March for our commercial vehicle customers in the UK.

The recently-opened FORDLiive Centre at our Dunton Technical Centre, UK, is connected to dealers and roadside assistance teams and uses a 9 metre by 2 metre “power wall” screen to display key data including average repair times, dealer availability and total cases resolved.

By the end of the year, 80 per cent of our European commercial vehicle customers will benefit from FORDLiive support.
