All-Electric E-Transit Van is Ready to be Put to the Test
Our new E-Transit van is designed to help businesses reduce their emissions while remaining as productive as ever.
Before the all-electric version of the world’s best-selling cargo van goes on sale, it will be trialled by customers across Europe to ensure it can comfortably meet their needs.
A test fleet of prototype E-Transits will start trials in late summer this year with businesses in the UK, Germany and Norway across a wide range of operating scenarios. These include urban “last-mile” and supermarket delivery companies, as well as construction and utilities operators.
Hand-built by our expert technicians, the prototypes all feature the battery and electric motor technology that will be used in the final production E-Transit vans next year.
Feedback and data from the real-world trials will help us refine the operating experience for customers, and improve our understanding of how E‑Transit’s high-tech connected features and range management can help businesses.
Electrified vans are important to businesses as cities around the world pledge to create emission-free zones and customers desire more eco-friendly deliveries. In addition to E-Transit and our Transit Custom Plug-In Hybrid, we recently announced an all-electric Transit Custom coming in 2023, and another all-electric van in 2024.
The all-electric Ford E-Transit goes on sale in spring next year.
