Paramedics praise pioneering E-Transit ambulance

We first got to know the paramedics at Transvia MED in Valencia, Spain, as part of our Lifesavers series looking inside the lives of the dedicated people who use Ford Pro vehicles to help keep us safe.

Now, the team are providing a new level of care for patients in Valencia, in Spain, using the first E-Transit
 1 ambulance in the country.

The E-Transit ambulance means smoother, quieter journeys, thanks to its electric motor and advanced suspension – beneficial for transporting especially vulnerable patients, including new-born babies.

In accident situations, every second counts and already, paramedics have praised the responsive electric motor that is more powerful than any diesel Transit and offers faster acceleration.

Valencia-based firm Indusauto took on the job of transforming our regular E-Transit into a high-tech ambulance, installing advanced medical equipment where other customers might carry pipes or planks.

The E-Transit spearheads our range of electric commercial vehicles and is Europe’s best-selling electric van this year. 2 Its success supports our global plan to rapidly scale EVs, and our target of achieving zero emissions across all vehicle sales in Europe, by 2035.

When it comes to reaching patients, the E‑Transit helps us with improved handling and faster acceleration.”

1 In accordance with the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP). A range of up to 317 km can be achieved with a fully charged battery - depending on the existing series and battery configuration. The actual range may vary due to various factors (e.g. weather conditions, driving style, route profile, vehicle condition, age and condition of the lithium-ion battery).

The declared WLTP fuel/energy consumptions, CO2-emissions and electric range are determined according to the technical requirements and specifications of the European Regulations (EC) 715/2007 and (EU) 2017/1151 as last amended. The applied standard test procedures enable comparison between different vehicle types and different manufacturers.
