Accessible simracing simulator developed for drivers with reduced mobility

Accessibility, inclusivity, competitiveness and fun are core values of our Team Fordzilla esports team; and all of these values were used in the development of a new simracing simulator for drivers with disabilities and reduced mobility.

The new, first-of-its-kind piece of hardware allows gamers with disabilities and reduced mobility to enjoy a simracing experience akin to the traditional cockpit with pedals set-up, which in turn helps them to play and compete at the highest level. The key part of the simulator is the steering wheel which has been implemented with paddles that allow the accelerator and brake to be operated manually, a technology inspired by Ford's adapted vehicles.

The simulator, developed by the specialised company Hi-Speed Simulators, has been supported by Ford Adapta – the programme between Ford Spain, its dealer network and the ONCE Foundation to normalize access to mobility for people with disabilities – Team Fordzilla and the ONCE Foundation itself.

Compatible with all consoles, computers and video games, it incorporates software with reduced mobility mode and a Virtual Reality system option and is available to buy through our Team Fordzilla
website. You can click on the link for more details, or watch Ford Spain's video below to see it in action.
