New Mustang California Special is a dream machine

Our iconic Mustang sports car has always been all about having fun, and now we’ve introduced a new special edition that celebrates both the Mustang spirit and the distinctive style of West Coast America.

Designed for the kind of laid-back cruising that is synonymous with “The Golden State”, the new Mustang California Special is only available with a convertible roof, so expect to be noticed while you soak up the sunshine.

The exterior design is inspired by the original Mustang California Special from 1968. That includes a blacked-out grille, unique “GT/CS” badges and distinctive “colour shift” California Special decals that change their appearance depending on how the light hits them, as well as exclusive 19-inch wheels in Carbonised Grey.

There are unique Mustang California Special badges inside too, and under the bonnet is our powerful 5.0-litre V8 engine for effortless cruising whether on Route 66 or the A6. 1

“The California Special is a huge part of the Mustang’s legacy in America and it symbolises so much of what Mustang stands for: The joy of driving and the freedom of the open road. Those ideals resonate just as strongly with driving enthusiasts in Europe, so it’s about time customers here got to experience the unique California Special blend of style, performance and driving fun.”
