Full-Size Puma ST Takes on Unique 1/10 Replica at Brands Hatch

Our ST performance models are all about nimble cornering, agility and having fun behind the wheel.

So, to see just how sporty our new Puma ST really is, we decided to put it up against another compact, powerful and agile machine – a radio-controlled (RC) replica of itself.

Driving the full-size Puma ST was Louise Cook, a WRC rally driver, while the miniature Puma was driven by Lee Martin, a professional RC racer. The venue for the race was the iconic Brands Hatch motor racing circuit in the UK.

The Puma ST is our first performance SUV for customers in Europe. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.7 seconds and is the only car in its class to offer a mechanical limited-slip differential that helps grip the road for better cornering.

The specially designed 1/10 scale RC car was crafted using 3D-printed parts including the wheels and wipers, and a body based on computer-engineering data from the real car. The Mean Green exterior even uses the same paint as the real car.

“This was no ordinary race, but the Puma ST is designed to offer true performance and agility in a compact and practical package, whatever the conditions. Even when it is up against a purpose-built racing car and a champion driver, it has the ability to deliver.”
