Want to Travel Through History, Books, Movies and Music? New Mappo App Makes it Easy

We are all looking forward to being able to travel more freely again – and now there is a new way to make those journeys more interesting.

Mappo enables drivers and their passengers to explore the world around them through the lens of history, popular culture, architecture and sport – supported by audio content from literary icons, historians, musicians and more.

Now available for iOS and Android devices, the app includes themed routes and is expected to expand quickly through crowd-sourced, user-generated content from people around the world. It launches with more than 30,000 point-of-interest cultural references across more than a dozen major cities in Europe, Asia and the U.S.

After supporting development of the app, we are the first automaker to offer customers an in-vehicle Mappo experience. Customers who have vehicles equipped with SYNC® 3 or SYNC 4 technology will be able to use Mappo through voice commands. It will be available for the all-new Mustang Mach-E and other future vehicles.

Mappo is a startup company based in Tel Aviv that developed technology to extract quotes along with locations from any text, in order to create a layer on a map. This technology selects only relevant and exciting quotes to share with people, enabling Mappo to create location-based content layers globally from books, music and video. Mappo prompts users around the globe to upload stories from local writers and others.
