New stretched Transit is built for the long haul

Tight city streets, twisty rural roads and extra tolls on big trucks can mean a full-size heavy goods vehicle is not always the best solution for businesses moving cargo.

That’s why transport companies in Europe often use vans converted to carry the same type of load pallets as larger trucks, and now we’ve stretched our front-wheel drive Transit chassis cab to do exactly that.

It offers the power and comfort needed for hauling goods across the continent, and its extended bare rear chassis can be converted by our of network almost 200 Qualified Vehicle Modifiers to create a large cargo space and sleeping area.

Fitted with retractable curtain body sides that make loading and unloading simple, the new stretched Transit variant can carry up to 10 standard pallets of cargo1 and stay under the 3.5 tonne maximum weight limit for such vehicles.

Efficient and powerful 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engines2 make easy work of cruising on motorways with heavy loads, while technologies designed to help maintain a safe distance from other vehicles and lane edges were recently praised by independent vehicle safety authority Euro NCAP.3

A sleeping pod above or behind the cab allows the driver to get comfy overnight and store personal items during the day.

Available from Ford dealerships across Europe, the latest Transit is ready for customers to buy and convert now.

1 Max payload varies and is based on accessories and vehicle configuration. See label on door jamb for carrying capacity of a specific vehicle.
2 Fuel efficiency and CO2 emission data will depend on homologation of converted vehicles using FordEtis WLTP CO2 Calculation Tool.
3 Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver’s attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle. It does not replace safe driving. See Owner’s Manual for details and limitations.
