Kuga leads the way for assisted driving tech

Tech that can share control of a car with the driver is becoming more and more prevalent.

Designed to take some of the strain out of driving by detecting and responding to other vehicles, road markings and even road signs, assisted driving technologies can help make journeys less stressful, while the driver remains in charge.

Now, independent new car assessment experts Euro NCAP have launched their first-ever ranking of assisted driving vehicles – and our new Kuga SUV has finished ahead of the pack.

Outscoring cars from Tesla, Volvo and Volkswagen for its overall experience, Kuga offers technologies that can automatically help the SUV maintain a comfortable driving distance from vehicles ahead, stay centred in its lane, and adjust the speed to within legal limits.

Our car scored more than twice as many points as the Tesla Model 3 in the Driver Engagement assessment category and significantly outscored both the Volvo V60 and Volkswagen Passat in the Safety Backup category.

Kuga’s technologies use a camera and radar to scan the road ahead, and are designed to be as intuitive and engaging as possible so that that drivers feel comfortable using them.
