Sci-fi sounds of Mustang Mach-E inspire electronic music artist

It’s not often a world-renowned musician remixes the sounds of a car, but that’s just what Detroit-based Matthew Dear has done with our all-electric Mustang Mach-E.

Our sound engineers created unique interior and exterior sounds for Mach-E, heavily inspired by 80’s sci-fi cinema, and this piqued the interest of Dear, a founding member of electronic music label Ghostly International and originator of the “Hands Up for Detroit” anthem.

Dear used the synth-heavy sounds to create “New Breed,” a hypnotic electronic track that’s distinctly Mustang Mach-E.

The sounds are cooler than I thought they’d be — cinematic and sci-fi — and all the noises the car makes have a sense of modern musicality. Creating ‘New Breed’ was a new experience and I think the song — like the car — takes its passengers on a voyage.
Mustang has been synonymous with music over the years, featuring in a number of classic songs. “New Breed” may just help Mustang Mach-E ignite a new generation of Mustang in music. Give the track a listen here and see how together with Dear we made the piece a reality by watching the short documentary below.
