New protection shields help social distancing on the move

Social distancing has quickly become a routine part of the “new normal” – and not just in shops, schools and offices. Commercial vehicle operators are also changing how they work.

To help ensure additional peace of mind for drivers and passengers, we’re introducing new protection shields for our Transit and Tourneo ranges of vans and people movers.

Designed with operations including school buses, patient transfer, and taxi services in mind, the impermeable shields are made of a light, flexible, transparent plastic material – meaning occupants can still see and hear each other. Drivers can clearly see windows and mirrors, too.

Removable suction cups and integrated straps allow for simple installation. Heating and ventilation systems can be used as normal, and mounting points and straps are positioned to enable deployment of airbags.

The shields are available to split the cabin front to rear and left to right, depending on the type of vehicle. And, perhaps most importantly, can be sanitised as part of operators’ interior disinfecting procedures.
