Here's a Breath of Fresh Air for Drivers with Hay Fever and Allergies

Keeping tiny particles like pollen and dust at bay can bring relief to hay fever and allergy sufferers on the road. We’re helping drivers breathe easier with an upgraded air filter that can trap particles as small as 0.05 microns – less than one thousandth the thickness of a human hair.

Our Ford micronAir proTect filter is made up of several layers, including carbon filters and a special active layer that includes citric acid, as found in lemons. As well as trapping pollen and dust, it can capture yeast, fungi and bacteria – and even offers antiviral properties.

The filter has been proven to be more than 99.9 per cent effective* against viruses that come into contact with the special active layer, including Swine Flu (H1N1) and HCov-229E, a type of coronavirus. When fitted it can reduce the amount of harmful particles entering the cabin, as well as trapping any droplets containing viruses already inside the vehicle, to reduce the chance of further contamination.

The filter is available for a wide range of some of our most popular vehicles, with more models to follow this summer, and can be fitted by our dealers using ‘No Touch’ servicing that means cars and vans are thoroughly sanitised before being returned from the workshop.

*Ford micronAir® proTect line with antiviral surface protection by means of a functional filter layer based on fruit extract (active ingredient Citric Acid CAS-Nr. 77-92-9 and/or 5949-29-1) for use in air handling/air conditioning systems. Safe bacteriostatic and fungistatic surface protection against a multitude of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeast and fungi as well as proven antiviral properties (Influenzavirus H1N1 and Coronavirus HCoV 229E) according to ISO 18184.
