Happy birthday Ford Mustang!

The world famous Ford Mustang -- one of the most iconic and best-loved cars in the world -- has turned 55. And we've celebrated in style.

With typical Mustang attitude, we shunned the cake and celebrated with donuts in a tyre-squealing video. Listen very carefully and you might even hear that the exhausts are joining the party with a V8-inspired rendition of the classic “Happy Birthday” song.

Here's how we did it!

Definitely quieter but no less action-packed, we also cracked open the new 1967 Ford Mustang LEGO Creator series model, in honour of the four-wheel quinquagenarian. We've condensed the marathon 1,400-piece, four-hour build into a special time-lapse video.

On Wednesday, April 17 – 55 years to the day that the Mustang officially went on sale – owners came together to celebrate at locations in the UK, Germany, Canada, China, Lebanon, Mexico, UAE and the USA.

And with fans around the world fuelling the passion, including the man with 5,000 Mustangs and the Mustang man, the celebrations look set to continue for years to come.
