How paramedics are using Ford Mustang Mach-E to reach those in need fast

If you’re out and about in London, UK, you may spot one of 42 specially adapted Ford Mustang Mach-Es rushing solo paramedics through traffic to emergency callouts. The London Ambulance Service picked our Mustang Mach-E not only for its performance and handling, but also for the fact it could last a whole 12-hour shift without needing to stop to be recharged. When every second is crucial, that makes a big difference.

Our engineers also listened to paramedics about what they wanted from a vehicle and a key concern was the amount of clutter they normally had added to the dashboard. The solution, which was conceived and developed within one year, was a SYNC integration module. This allows the vehicle’s SYNC screen to switch from the normal customer view to an input view from the ambulance service computer fitted in the boot, giving paramedics the information they need about the job they are going to and how to get there.

A new film highlights how our Mustang Mach-E works as a Fast Response Unit, with another film following solo paramedic Marek Lowicz-Brady as he works a shift for the London Ambulance Service. It’s a job that throws new and unique challenges at him every day, where his quick decision-making can make a huge difference to the patients he rushes to reach.
