Ford Pro sets new records at vehicle awards

Our all-new Transit Custom van 1,2 and Ranger pickup 2,3 are coming home from the Solutrans show in Lyon, France with some very precious cargo – two coveted trophies.

The all-new Transit Custom won International Van of the Year (IVOTY), marking the fifth success for a van from Ford Pro’s Transit family.

Judges from 25 countries across Europe gave top marks to the latest new van to reach Ford Pro dealerships, which is packed with innovative features inside and out to make work easier for businesses.

Transit Custom’s spacious interior means drivers can now slide across the cab rather than get out into busy traffic. A clever tilting steering wheel can become a table or laptop stand for lunch breaks and on-the-go admin. The new MultiCab option means you can forget roof rack struggles and fit five people as well as longer loads like pipe, planks and ladders in the back.

We also made it a pair of prizes, as the all-new Ranger won the International Pick-up Award (IPUA) – the third trophy for Ranger since 2013, setting a new record.

The latest version of Ford’s best-selling pickup first hit Europe last year when the high-intensity Ranger Raptor jumped out of the back of a plane. Since then, we’ve announced the new Platinum with leather-and-wood luxury, the off-road biased Tremor, and Europe’s first plug-in hybrid pickup to add pure electric driving capability to Ranger’s already long list of attributes.

Demanding on- and off-road testing in Greece 4 proved to the expert IPUA panel that the Ranger is still king of every hill. The all-new pickup has been designed to be more capable off-road, more refined on it, and feature a new level of connectivity 5 and handy tech for work days and weekends.

We’ve now won the IVOTY and IPUA awards in the same year on three occasions – more than any other manufacturer – following double wins in 2013 and 2020.

“This is a pride point for our Ford teams across the globe who strive to deliver quality-driven products for our customers. We are delighted that the jury has recognised the strength of our newest commercial vehicles, built with the purpose of supporting customers’ business needs across all vocations.”
